Copy or text is one of the fundamental elements in any user-facing platform. As such, it is crucial for us to be able to ensure that this data is always up to date, organized, and error-free. In an organization, there is sometimes a disconnect between copy, design, and development teams. As an application is created, constant copy changes can be expected. As developers, it’s our job to ensure that these changes are reflected exactly as specified. While this may seem like a simple copy and paste, it is easy to lose track of updated copy when you to mix in more complex flows within an application. An ideal solution would be one where the copywriting team has direct control over the text that gets implemented in our products. With this approach, any changes from our copywriting team can be easily reflected and understood across multiple teams and disciplines.

The Verbis IO is a web platform that contains all the localized strings that are used within a mobile or web application. In Verbis, strings are organized by projects and screens. We then provide scripts for the strings to be accessed by different platforms (eg: iOS, Android, Web). Updates to the strings on the portal will update the strings across all or specific platform by re-running the scripts.
